*PLEASE READ THE BOTTOM OF THE DESCRIPTION IF YOU WANT TO HELP ME MAKE THIS TEMPLATE* This is the first version of a template for a sidescroller game in the Blender Game Engine, including one script and a lot of logic bricks. So far it's pretty buggy, but I'd like to see some people collaborate with me and make it a lot better - see below for details. Current functionality: - Walk animation. The player can walk left and right, and turn those respective directions when keys are pressed (special thanks to Chris Plush for letting me use some of his code here in a public project: http://www.cgmasters.net/free-tutorials/bge-python-reading-and-writing-r... (http://www.cgmasters.net/free-tutorials/bge-python-reading-and-writing-rotation/)) - Crouch and crawl animation (a little buggy. Sometimes the player gets stuck in down position and can't get back up). - Jump animation (buggy; animation tends to end after a few jumps). - IF YOU WANT TO COLLABORATE WITH ME AND HELP ME BUILD AN AWESOME BGE TEMPLATE: If you want to help with this project, such as in writing scripts, making logic, adding functionality, or anything else, go ahead and download this project and add your changes to it. Try to make your changes as perfect as possible (no bugs if you can help it, stuff like that). Then, upload your version of the blend online on an online storage website (Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, etc.), and send me a link via a comment or by emailing me at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]). I will review your file, and if it is satisfactory, will upload the new version to OpenGameArt.com so that we can expand some more. Features to be added: Grab rope and swing, climb ladder, swim (and logic), attack, roll, die, grab ledge and pull self up, etc. - just be creative. Other things can be added, too - artificial intelligence, and so on. Let's work together to make this even better!
