Description

The DRI are designed to allow the roots to develop in darkness while maintaining the cotyledons under illumination, thereby reproducing physiologically relevant growth conditions. In addition, the devices has to incorporate a coverslip assembly that enables high-quality image acquisition by confocal laser scanning microscopy. The roots develop between the coverslip and the agar plant medium. This imaging setup allows live cell imaging of root development, enabling continuous observation of dynamic cellular processes without disturbing or interfering with the natural growth and development of the root.
