Description
Save costs by printing your own vacuum manifold instead of purchasing an expensive one. This 3D-printed vacuum manifold is designed to fit the 96-well filter plate used in BioLegend LEGENDplex bead-based immunoassays. Tips for achieving an airtight print: Use PETG instead of PLA for better durability and performance. Print at a high temperature (I used 255°C) to ensure strong layer adhesion. Keep your filament dry to avoid bubbling and potential defects/leaks Set a high resolution for the print (I used 0.12 mm). Opt for random seam positioning to prevent leakage through the seams Increase the number of perimeters (I used 4) to reduce the potential for leaks through the walls. Print with more top layers (I used 6) to improve surface integrity. Reduce print speed by about 25% for better precision. (Optional) Apply vacuum grease where the manifold meets the 96-well plate to improve the seal.
