Description

This model is one of two versions of the papillomavirus generated in support of: Porter SS, Liddle JC, Browne K, Pastrana DV, Garcia BA, Buck CB, Weitzman MD, McBride AA. Histone Modifications in Papillomavirus Virion Minichromosomes. mBio. 2021 Feb 16;12(1):e03274-20. doi: 10.1128/mBio.03274-20. PMID: 33593981. https://journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/mBio.03274-20 "Structural model of 13 H3.3 (dark orange) nucleosomes (PDB 5X7X (https://identifiers.org/resolve?query=pdb:5X7X)) and 19 H3.1 (light orange) nucleosomes (PDB 3AFA (https://identifiers.org/resolve?query=pdb:3AFA)) packed into a sphere approximating the interior of HPV16 capsid (PDB 5KEP (https://identifiers.org/resolve?query=pdb:5KEP)) using CellPACK and ePMV in Maxon Cinema 4D. Each nucleosome is wrapped with 146 bp DNA, and the capsid was “packed” with 32 additional 100-bp segments of linker DNA (7,872 bp total). " The capsid was generated using the molecular maya plugin in Autodesk Maya Note - this model is in 3 pieces: a base, the bottom capsid with minichromosome inside, and a capsid "lid".
