Description

5-formylcytosine is a nucleobase analogue that is cytosine (https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/cytosine) in which the hydrogen (https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/element/Hydrogen) at position 5 is replaced by a formyl group. It has a role as a metabolite. It is an aminopyrimidine (https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/aminopyrimidine), a pyrimidone (https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/pyrimidone), a nucleobase analogue and a heteroarenecarbaldehyde. It derives from a cytosine (https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/cytosine). -- https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/10986305 (https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/10986305)
