Description

This is a design for a vacuum formed non-rebreather (NRB) mask with a 3D printed connector. Our design includes: A vacuum formed plastic mask A printed o2 connector 2 valves for the mask 1 valve for the o2 connector We do not include a component for the bag. You must provide a bag for the system to work properly. We have designed the buck to be made as either a milled or 3D printed. We included both a forming buck and a cutting buck. We have used both PETG and polystyrene as our vacuum forming material. We recommend using a Formtech vacuum former, or any other top loading vacuum former. Book style vacuum formers will not work. We have used both 0.03” and 0.06” sheets to make the vacuum formed buck. The concept is scalable for maks manufacturing using die cutters and industrial vacuum formers Our designs are uploaded as Solidworks 2019, STEP and STL files. This design was developed by: Jeffrey Lipton (University of Washington) Aidan Fay (Stanford University) James Shin (Weill Cornell) Scott Hudson (Carnegie Mellon University) Flyn O’Brien (University of Washington) BOM: 1/32 adhesive backed silicone foam 0.03” PETG Sheets or 0.03” polystyrene sheets ¼” wide elastic PETG Printer filament 1 or 2 mill polypropylene film As an alternative to adhesive backed silicone, non-adhesive backed silicone can be used in conjunction with cyanoacrylate adhesive glues.
