Description
This medical device is used to properly mix medicine from an inhaler into a chamber. The device then has two valves, so the user can simply breath normally and requires no special training when they are too young or too old to do so, and still get an effective dose of the medication There are existing inhaler spacers that are 3D printable, but they are just a tube. This is not helpful for the intended patient demographic of the very old or very young that cannot be trained when to breathe. The double valve design allows for normal breathing without the medicine in the chamber being pushed back out past the inhaler. This is useful for infants with a mask attachment and the geriatric. This was requested by Kings County Hospital/SUNY Downstate, Brooklyn Department of Emergency Medicine because doctors around the country are hesitant to use nebulizers which is the standard method of treatment for asthma File is located here since it is larger than 200mb: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ixa8hf5evjrzm6k/INHALERSPACER_RELEASE_V1.zip?dl=1
