Description

This 3D printable headband with integral flexible browband is optimized for print time. This headband design incorporates continuous surfaces, reducing breakage points and hard edges. When assembled with shields, it can provide full face and head protection for workers facing PPE (personal Protection equipment) supply shortage. The flexible browband, in combination with the integrated cinch, comfortably secures the headband using any available cord. Advantages of this slim headband design: - Additional 30% reduction in print time and filament usage when compared to our previous design submission (https://3dprint.nih.gov/discover/3dpx-013378) - Integral flexible browband provides comfort and easy fit for wearers - Can utilize fixed-length cord (e.g. paracord) that is more abundantly available than elastics and straps - Integrated cinch holes allow for cord length adjustment - Continuous design minimizes breakage points and hard edges Bill of Materials - 3D printed headband - Fixed length cord (e.g. paracord), nominally 18? - Face shield (U.S. standard 3-hole punch spacing) - Head protection, optional (U.S. Standard 3-hole punch spacing) Assembly Instructions - Lace cord through cinch - Snap on face shield - Snap on head protection, optional
