Description

3D models (created by OpenSCAD, fully printable) for creating alpha quartz crystal. Basic atom model can be used to crease an atom with any number of bonds at any angle; this gives high flexibility. Bond angle can also be used if only two bonds are required. Stick attachment depth and radius can be changed as well as static and multiplicative wiggle room for attachment sticks. Model has been scaled so that atomic radii are approximately in scale [1] and the Si-O bond is 3.2cm whilst the real is ~160pm [2]. [1] Slater, John C. "Atomic radii in crystals."
