Description
General description This sizer is designed to simulate the insertion of heart valve prosthetics into 3d printed patient phantoms. It is loosely based on the size specifications of a Sapien XT (http://www.edwards.com/eu/products/transcathetervalves/pages/sapienxt.aspx) valve (adjustable diameter ranging across 20 - 29 mm, with adjustments to 23, 26 and 29 mm; fixed height of 16 mm). The basic design of the sizer includes a central stud and an expandable cylindrical simulated valve. Rotation of the central stud clockwise and counter-clockwise causes the simulated valve to expand and contract respectively, thus simulating multiple diameters in succession. Hardware Additional hardware parts need to be pruchased for the complete assembly: The central stud x1 (https://www.mcmaster.com/#94455a344/=19b9ya1 (https://www.mcmaster.com/#94455a344/=19b9ya1)) The left-turning end nut x1 (https://www.mcmaster.com/#99891a120/=19bau20 (https://www.mcmaster.com/#99891a120/=19bau20)) The right-turning end nut x1 (https://www.mcmaster.com/#95462a031/=19baumu (https://www.mcmaster.com/#95462a031/=19baumu)) Aluminum flashing 0.0078 inch thickness or similar
